BIOGRAPHY

The name Monegarn, scandinavian's pantheon god breeding himself of dying persons' lifes that should at the end of world swallow the moon and splash his own blood over the sky, corresponded with the band's concept by the vision of destruction and the the egalitarian judgement this god inspires, this independantly of religious and political beliefs. Even if step by step the vision of the band is going further, the ideas of rebelliousness, absence of superior ideology and freedom of choice will be kept.

Thus, the band Monegarn was formed during the 2001 year with the creation of a musical project with Claudio Alvarez (Lead Guitar) and Rafaël Katic (Rythm Guitar). A few time after the project materializes itself when Guillaume Drapier (Bass/Vocals) and Julien Lecaisseux (Drums) join the band.

The band is practicing an agressive melodic death metal, corresponding to the synthesis of styles that each one of the band were playing before. Thus Monegarn is playing a kind of brutal death metal, with guitar hamonized lines and some heavy inspired soli confering a melodical side to this style.

After a long working and songwriting time, G. Drapier and J. Lecaisseux decide to leave the band. In spite of, R. Katic et C. Alvarez record the Monegarn's first demo Apotheosis on March 2004, this demo countains 8 tracks (5 songs and 3 instrumentals) on which they do all vocals together. The subject of this first demo is insanity aborded with abstract lyrics that allow everybody to get its own interpretation. After this recording, Sebastien Lavoué join the band as bass player; Monegarn is getting back on rehearsals until 2004's summer.

After a working period, the band is getting back on song writing. Then 6 tracks of a new demo are written, the music is oriented to a more brutal direction. During this summer 2004, C. Alvarez goes back home to Japon and announces that he won't be back in France. At this same period Rafael has got to leave Strasbourg during one year, to attend a sound technician formation. The project is forgotten for one year.

In June 2005, after his formation, R. Katic decides to put back Monegarn on his feet, thing that's beginning with the recording of the MCD that was schedulded since September 2004...
